OFIR LIEBSTEIN, a man of vision and action, dedicated his life to the israeli society and the jewish people in the diaspora.
In his lifetime, Ofir served as mayor of the Sha’ar Hanegev regional council where he initiated the famous “Darom Adom” (the red south) festival. Ofir also served as the CEO of the Kibbutz Industry Association and a director of KKL-JNF Israel, and he was chairman of Habonim Dror and founder of WeKibbutz.
Above all, Ofir was a family man, the husband of Vered and the father of Aviv, Idan, Uri and Nitzan.
Ofir was killed on the morning of Simchat Torah in a surprise attack on Israel while defending his kibbutz, Kfar Azza. Later that morning, his son Nitzan was also murdered.
WE WANT TO CONTINUE OFIR'S VISION AND WORK, AND LET HIS LIGHT SHINE ON US AND ILLUMINATE OUR PATH.
